Medication Management:
Better Mental Health Services, PLLC offers medication prescription and managment for multiple psychiatric conditions, including those which may require intermittent lab work/level monitoring.
What We DO:
Better Mental Health Services currently provides
In-person
AND/OR
telehealth
psychiatric care for adults ages 16 and up. Children and adolescents ages 5-12 may be accepted on a case by case basis. Better Mental Health Services services are
available only
to individuals residing
within the state of Iowa.
Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of multiple mental health conditions not limited to:
What We DON’T Do:
- Detoxification or medication assisted treatment (MAT) for current/active alcohol, narcotic/opioid, or illegal drug use/dependence
- Psychiatric or neuropsychiatric testing (we will make referrals as indicated)
- Medical marijuana cards or prescriptions, psilocybin, ketamine (we will make referrals as indicated)
- Court ordered or one-time psychiatric evaluations/competency evaluations
- One-time visits for FMLA or Disability paperwork
- Psychiatric testing for or treatment of: memory loss, dementias, or Alzheimer's disease
- Group counseling or couples/marital counseling
Due to the ongoing misuse, abuse, and repeated shortages of stimulant medications, as well as frequent misdiagnosis in the United States, Better Mental Health Services
DOES NOT
do evaluations for diagnosis of
new
Adult (over the age of 18) ADHD cases. Clients with prior diagnosis of ADHD seeking continued treatment must provide proof of prior diagnosis in the form of medical records and/or proof of prior prescription treatment for ADHD. Mental Health Services
does not
prescribe stimulant treatment for ADHD to adults beyond the age of 60.
