A: Yes! Part of what we do at Better Mental Health Services, PLLC is evaluate for, diagnose and treat mental health conditions.

Q: How much do appointments cost?

A: Short answer-it depends. The amount clients may be charged/owe depends on what type of health insurance you have (carrier, HMO versus PPO, high deductible, etc.) and what services are rendered to you. If you are concerned about out-of-pocket costs, you may request a Good Faith Estimate prior to receiving services. Better Mental Health Services, PLLC does not have a sliding-scale/reduced-fee schedule, however, we do accept payment plans if needed.

Q: Do I have to be seen in person?

A: No. Better offers telehealth services for clients living in the state of Iowa. However, there may be some circumstances where telehealth clients may be required to make at least one in-person visit per year. Clients who wish to be seen by telehealth must have a reliable internet connection and ability to competently use telehealth platforms.

Q: How does telehealth work?

A: Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email link to your appointment. When it is time for your appointment, just click this link and you will be connected to the secure audio-video visit platform. Your provider will log in/appear at your appointment time. When the visit is complete, your provider will close the session, ending the connection.

Q: How long will my appointments take?

A: Initial or “intake” appointments are scheduled for 1 hour. Actual appointment time may be shorter or longer depending on your history and needs. Follow-up appointments are generally scheduled for 30 minutes. Again, actual visit time will vary depending on your progress and needs.
